Sr. Software Developer/Technical Trainer
Major duties and functions: The software developer/technical trainer is responsible for training customers on the use of various Telcordia software products and their APIs for product integration and customization. Training is performed both remotely via LiveMeeting and on site at customer locations. Customers can be located worldwide; therefore the candidate must be flexible in their willingness to travel to customer locations (both foreign and domestic) and to support LiveMeeting training events during off hours to accommodate international customers. When not training or developing course material, candidate will assist with software development projects or other assigned tasks.
Qualifications: The candidate must have the following skills and capabilities:
- 5 years Java programming experience including working knowledge of the various frameworks.
- Experience with EJB, JSP, Struts, Web Services, XML, XDT.
- Ability to travel (average about 30%) domestically and internationally.
- Flexibility, willingness to learn, initiative, motivation, ability to adapt and a "self starter" attitude.
- Excellent customer-facing skills, solid presentation skills and the ability to command technical material and present it in an easy to understand manner.
- Prior telecom carrier experience desirable.
- Previous experience with Oracle RDBMS, Tomcat, BEA Weblogic and IBM Websphere application servers, UNIX (Sun and HP).
